2. What happens after my application has been accepted?

After careful and extensive consideration of all applications by the TYA Presidents and the TYN Executive Committee the successful applicants are announced. As a successful applicant you will enter a one month ‘trial period’.

Though you are essentially accepted and considered a TYA participant, this period will allow the TYA Presidents to evaluate your attendance and participation in the preparatory process before the conference. Your level of involvement should reflect the motivation and dedication the TYA Presidents and the TYN Executive Committee have perceived in your Letter of Motivational and your Application Essay.

Important Notes

The THIMUN Youth Network reserves the right to deny or withdraw the right to participate in the THIMUN Youth Assembly if participants fail to participate adequately in the preparatory process.

All the associated activities such as preparing the Outcome Document, discussing and pre-conference preparation are carried out in English, therefore a high standard of English is demanded in the formulation of ideas, whether in the writing of Outcome Documents or in discussing and debating with fellow participants.

3. Visas

Obtaining a visa is the responsibility of the participants and may take up to 6 weeks. If you bear the passport of a country from which The Netherlands requires a visa, make sure to tick the relevant section during the application process, read the below very carefully, and provide us with the following information:

Participants that require a visa to enter the Netherlands will be provided with an official letter of invitation.

If you require an official invitation letter to apply for a VISA, on the Online Application Form, you will be asked to provide full contact details including

- the mailing address (with postal code),

- phone number and fax number of the nearest Dutch Embassy/Consulate which you will visit for the visa,

- your passport number and

- the date your passport was issued.

Our office cannot process your letter unless all this information is complete and correct.

The letter will be faxed to your person and to the nearest Dutch Embassy or Consulate after a one month evaluation period during the online preparatory phase of the conference. The final decision as to whether a participant who requests a visa invitation should be granted one depends on the reviews provided by the Committee Coordinators.

Please make sure to check the IND website to see if you need a visa before you proceed with your application. The mailing addresses of Dutch Embassies and Consulates and more information on Dutch immigration procedures and additional documents could also be found here.
